Solar Panel Critter Guard & Bird Guard Installation in Tampa

The gap between your panels and your roof deck is warm, dry, shaded and completely hidden from predators. To a Tampa pigeon or squirrel that is a penthouse. Once they move in you get droppings on the roof, chewed DC wiring, and a nesting mat that traps heat right against your modules.

What we install

Rigid galvanized steel mesh with a black powder-coat finish, sized to the exact perimeter of your array so it reads as part of the system rather than a bolt-on cage. The mesh is secured with stainless steel clips that grip the panel frame directly. Nothing is drilled into your roof and no penetrations are created that could later leak.

Clean-out comes first

Guarding an occupied array just traps the problem inside. Every install starts with removing nests, droppings and debris from under the modules, sanitising the deck area, and checking for chewed conductors or damaged conduit while we have the access.

What it protects

Uric acid in bird droppings is corrosive to roof coatings, flashing and grounding hardware. Rodents chew MC4 leads and can create arc-fault conditions your inverter will shut down over. A guard installed once typically outlasts several roof cleanings and removes the recurring cost of both.

Pricing

$6 to $12 per linear foot of array perimeter, quoted from your panel layout. Most residential arrays land between 80 and 160 linear feet. Clean-out of an existing infestation is quoted separately based on severity.
