Snead Island's wooded lots and Historic Downtown's mature tree canopy both give squirrels and birds easy access to rooftops. We fit black PVC-coated mesh around the array perimeter to keep them out for good.
Manatee River and Tampa Bay salt spray
Riviera Dunes and Snead Island sit at the point where the Manatee River widens into Tampa Bay, and homes there see a heavier, steadier salt film than river-adjacent Bradenton properties a few miles upstream.
Marina and boat traffic residue
The Riviera Dunes marina generates fine exhaust particulate that drifts onto nearby rooftops on calm days, adding to the salt film rather than replacing it.
Downtown oak and mulberry litter
Historic Palmetto's older streets are shaded by mature oaks and a scattering of mulberry trees, whose staining fruit drop is messier on a light-colored panel frame than typical leaf litter.
Riviera Dunes and the newer Trevesta development run mostly concrete tile on two-story stucco homes, while Historic Downtown Palmetto has a mix of older shingle roofs on modest single-story homes dating back decades. The contrast between waterfront tile and older inland shingle is sharper here than in most Manatee cities.
Rigid galvanized steel mesh with a black powder-coat finish, sized to the exact perimeter of your array so it reads as part of the system rather than a bolt-on cage. The mesh is secured with stainless steel clips that grip the panel frame directly. Nothing is drilled into your roof and no penetrations are created that could later leak.
Guarding an occupied array just traps the problem inside. Every install starts with removing nests, droppings and debris from under the modules, sanitising the deck area, and checking for chewed conductors or damaged conduit while we have the access.
Palmetto sits outside Hillsborough County, so a $50–$100 travel fee applies depending on routing. Booking alongside a neighbour usually removes it.
